Greetings! It appears that after more than a year, business, travel and our lives are on the way back to business as usual. There are still cautions, but life as we knew it is coming back.

The reunion committee has established the venue (Double Tree by Hilton) and have been busy planning some fun activities to do while we enjoy old friendships. To assist the further planning, scheduling, and costs we need your input to the following Survey.

4)   Activities: A Mill Ave/Apache Blvd (and other nearby streets) "Tempe Then and Now Tour." You'll hear Names and see the addresses of most businesses (from a 1959 Tempe Phone book) along Mill/Apache and be amazed by what's there now! A gratuity will be required to the driver providing the luxury van and doing the driving.

5)   Activities: A tour of the Four-Peaks Brewery (formely the dairy on 8th St.) We will get the premium tour of the brewery and see how the various beverages are make. After the tour, a no host lunch featuring tasting and really good food. A second tour may be offered in the late afternoon also featuring a no host dinner.

6)   Activities: Electric boats, Paddle Boats, Kayaks, and Duck, Dragon, or Swan Boats available near the former site of Tempe Beach. Prices will be lower than published due to our Reunion discount. Get a group together and pedal or captain a group for an hour or two. Bring your credit cards for the deposit. Fully refundable if you don't damage or sink the boat.

7)   Activities: The Phoenix Zoo. You won't believe ho much fun a visit to the zoo can be. We have arranged a special price of less than $20.00 provided we purchase tickets 10 day in advance. By the way, your ticket is also a membership for 1 year and returns are free!

8)   Activities: Tempe Historical Museum and Peterson House. Lots of pictures, exhibits, history and information about our old hometown, Tempe. The Peterson house is usually only opened during the Christmas season. We are still working on this tour but feel confident it will happen.

9)   Activities: The Desert Botanical Garden, is home to thousands of species of cactus, trees and flowers from around the world spread across 55 acres. This is a fee required venue and we are negotiating Reunion prices. Come early for the morning walk and have a lunch in the cafe.

10)   Activities: Arizona Heritage Center, tucked against the Papago Park preserve, is an oasis in the desert. Here you will discover how the sprawling Phoenix metropolis (including Tempe)began, springing to life in the fertile river valley. See how the 5-Cs - copper, cotton, citrus, cattle and climate - drove the economy and post-WWII growth. This is a great place to relieve the early day in Arizona.

11)   The Sandra Day O'Connor House, located very near the Campus of the Arizona Heritage Center. It is operated by the Sandra Day O'Connor Institute For American Democracy. This was the home of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and her family. It was relocated from its original location in Paradise Valley to this desert setting in Papago Park, Tempe in 2009. We ar confident this venue will be available us.

12)   Activities: This is a DREAM event! If enough people encourage this we will extend the Activities to Sunday. We'll negotiate with both venues 10 and 11, arrange a light lunch for all that attend. Again, this is just a dream (at this writing). So if you can stay over till Sunday afternoon, spend a few extra dollars and will be an opportunity for all to say safe travels at possibly our last reunion.
