Dick passed away some years ago. Don't know of the details. A good loyal friend during grade school.

Dickie died around '84 or '85 of jaw cancer.  He had several surgeries removing diseased bone and finally succumbed.  His wife Sue ran Shuman's Auto Service for several years and then sold it.   Dickie was a great guy and an awesome trumpet player.  At Tempe Grammar, he played Call to the Colors for the Flag raising every morning. His Mom, Nadine, is still very active and probably close to 90 or more.  She attends the Old Settlers Potluck every year. By the way, the porluck is October 25,10:30-2:00 at the Arizona Community Church, just south of Warner and Rural. The group is open to anyone who has lived in Tempe over 30 years.  Would love to see more of TUHS 61 there.  Eldon Smith, Chuck Holly, Jerry Hall and others attend.  Email me at jhollis@kw.com if you want details.
