This is a message I received from one of Ted’s close Ham radio friends in Texas.

Hello Bob,

Sorry for the delayed reply...I am working crazy hours in the summer.

Ted ( or Doc as we knew him) was a great guy. He had a Doctorate and worked at Tarrant County Collage as the Director of the Learning Resource Center consisting of the Library and many other departments. He was an excellent manager, leader, and an accomplished teacher.

My wife and I worked with him there and he elmered us in Ham radio in the 90's. He became a very good friend to us and we sorely miss him. He was an active QRPer (Low Power Operation) a DXer and contester. He also kayaked and canoed and lead many classes through river trips.

He developed a type of esophageal Cancer and had a long bout with it and survived a extensive operation. But unfortunately later complications got the better of him and we lost him in 2008.
